The Latest and Greatest in Night Lore

For those with a dark imagination, and an interest in art, let's get creepy!

The rules for this contest are pretty simple. There's only one prompt:

"It was a dark, and stormy night."

Whatever you want to create to fit this prompt, go for it! We encourage you to be as creative, and imaginative as possible. If you want to draw a spooky cemetery, or turn the idea completely on its head, we want to see what you have in store! Use whatever idea you have that fits the prompt.

For those unaware, April is a month with lots of observances, with plenty of things to acknowledge.

This month's writing challenge, is to write a poem (of any kind you see fit) that has something to do with one of April's month-long observances.

With due respect to whatever subject you choose, our only other requirement is that the subject matter and/or execution of your poem fit somewhere in the horror/creepy theme. Seven winners will be chosen to be featured in our user–submitted...

To kick off the site, let's tell some stories! Do you have a legend local to your area? Maybe a rumor so shrouded in darkness, you shudder to think it could even remotely be fact?

This contest is pretty simple, you don't have to be an expert writer, you just need a story. Post your own legend below, relating it the way you would to a friend or relative. Good day, all. It's your captain speaking. I've got a few updates on the site, and just some general information.

Up until the 15th, we've got our local legends contest, where you can submit your own legend to be featured in a special Night Lore video. We've got some great submissions so far, and we're looking forward to seeing what everyone's going to bring to the table. So check it out, if you haven't already! We hope to run a new contest each month, and it's been a great start so far.
